Hi everyone,

I set up an immediate redirect using hexatrack conversion tool.
I tested it and on the clickbank order page it has me as an affiliate
but right after my I.D it has 00000000 (eight zero's).

This is the first time I have tried to redirect with hexatrack and does not happen
when I click on my url.

Can anyone tell me if these numbers being added on to my affiliate
I.D will keep from getting commissions?

Thanks in advance,

ajpviking

Hello,

Clickbank only allows up to 8 characters for the subID or tracking ID.

When you send PPC search engine traffic Hexatrack will extract the keyword typed in by the user while it redirects the user to your affiliate page and appends a subID that references the actual keyword typed.

If no keyword is detected the subID is a 0-filled 8-character string, that references a "no-keyword-found" situation. This will usually happen if there is no keyword available because either the link was clicked directly via a URL in a browser, or the search engine string is not one of the engines supported by our filters. We support all the major ones.

You'll see that if you do a search for a keyword on Google for example and click your ad, the redirect will contain some string other than the 0's.
When you upload your Clickbank reports, you'll be able to see what people typed in, however there are some limitations due to the 8-char limit as shown on the main Clickbank Campaigns page in your account:

Quote
Note: Due to limitations with ClickBank's 8-character subIDs, analysis can only be done at the keyword level. This means that it's not possible to match a conversion with an exact/specific click in the logs. But we can at least show you what long-tail keywords were used in the date range and highlight them in the logs with a green background. Until Clickbank decides to upgrade their system to use subIDs with 64 characters or more, there is no way to get around this limitation. You can however click the Download Clickbank Conversion Keywords button to get a report with timestamps, keywords, and offer information to help you match the logs. Note: The conversion report only contains conversions that had a valid subID in the date range specified.

The subID or TID (tracking ID) value is only a reference to the keyword the user searched on, it does not affect anything in your Clickbank account other than the value in the TID column in your CSV reports. TID's are commonly used by affiliates to keep track of their campaigns, but usually they use the TID as a label instead of an actual keyword reference.
So, to answer your question, NO. It does not affect whether you'll get a commission or not. The jump link you enter with your affiliate ID is what matters as far as commission goes. As long as your Clickbank affiliate ID is in the URL, you'll get the commission.

hexatrack,

Thank you for your response, I am not only new to hexatrack (pretty cool), I am new to the adwords game as well.

I look forward to learning more about hexatrack and how it works as well as adwords through your tutorials.

Thanks again,
