Keyword Density.com vs Rank Quest.com

The Goggles are a great tool, but I'm finding some inconsistency in fixing the score for the landing page.  After making some changes to content, my landing page score went from OK to Great.  I used Keyworddensity.com and RankQuest.com to check keyword density on the page.  The problem is, they each show different keyword densities.  Keyworddensity.com shows a density score of 6.57% and RankQuest.com shows 3.09%.  Whenever I try to get the Keyworddensity.com density between 3% and 5% as suggested in the video, my score goes back down to the OK level.  I'm having similar results with other pages.  It seems the range of 3% to 5% works best in RankQuest.com, and not in Keyworddensity.com.  Is anyone else having this experience?  Is anyone getting a Great score with a density of 3% to 5% in Keyworddensity.com?
