Larry -

What's your guys' take on direct linking as opposed to setting up a landing pages?

ALSO

What do you think seperates you from all of the people who are NOT making the money you are?

Great tool!

Thanks!

Hey C,

Building landing pages definitely helps your quality score.  Even if it's just two pages.

Here's the difference -

1) If you are promoting straight to the affiliate offer, think about how many other people are doing the same thing.  The best ad copy and CTR wins AND only 1 ad will display at a time.
2) If you have your own domain with a couple pages of content and promote it, you won't be in competition with straight linkers. You will always be listed and you can test how your landing page works.  You also build great quality score with this.
3) If the market is not too saturated, direct linking is a good option.
4) You can even do domain masking, but then you can not track long tails or our software because your referrer URL will always show your domain name.

What separates us?

I think it's the fact that we don't go after what's popular.  We go after small but powerful niches.  Finding these is the key to affiliate marketing!

You can of course make money direct linking. My preference for many reasons is setting up a landing page.

Here are my additional thoughts on why..

You have more control of the marketing. That means preselling, opting people in and creating an autoresponder that buildes a relationship. You can sell other products to this customer. Suddenly this customer has a lifetime value rather than just making a quick buck by sending them directly. You can take this information and bid more to acquire a customer because you know their value.

What seperates us from someone who may not be making as much as us isn't much, it's partly years of experience. But it's mostly testing a lot of markets, being innovative in our marketing, and of course TAKING ACTION!

And that's where your videos and words of wisdom have already taught me more in a few minutes than any other sites and books have taught me in months of research (and agony)! Between the wisdom you and Larry are imparting and the incredible tools you have created (I just now upgraded to Pro), I feel reasonably confident – for the first time ever – that I might actually be able to make this work. This time. Instead of losing my my shirt. Like before.

Thanks!

I think what's really daunting for people is all the things that must be learned, all the steps involved and all the many places where it can go wrong. Badly wrong.

But I agree with you that TAKING ACTION is really important. It's what I'm doing right now. I'm starting my market/product research, based on what you and Amish have taught. You've really got my attention!

The thing that's tough is that TAKING EFFECTIVE ACTION can only really be accomplished when you have enough knowledge to develop the confidence to give it a try. That's what's been holding me back for quite some time – at least until I found The New PPC and Hexatrack. I'm cautiously optimistic now...

I'm so glad I found this "system" and the tools you have provided. I look forward to learning more and starting to really make some money!  Shocked

Karl:

well formulated thoughts which also express my experience and sentiment to date as well. i remain a free member pending success from one or more CPC campaigns. i have lots of good domain names to deploy (hospitals, pharmaceuticals, finance, insurance, wellness, mortgages, etc.), but still the in ramp up learning curve of how to generate demand to the site. lots to learn and confidence to build a day at a time. good luck to you!
